Environment, Health & Safety Background Information

The Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) training initiative of QNET is a cross-sectoral initiative with the purpose of providing training, educational, networking and awareness opportunities to Manitoba organizations to increase the safety and health of the workplace environment.

Organizations have the opportunity to participate in these activities to enhance the knowledge and skills required to provide a safe and healthy workplace.

The emphasis of information sessions and training is on quality and the need to incorporate environment, safety and health as an integral component of the overall management system of an organization.

Amendments to the Workplace Safety and Health Act on August 9, 2002 re-enforced the need for environment, health and safety training for employers, supervisors and workers to assist them to develop a workplace culture where environment, health and safety programs have the same priority as production and cost controls. A safe and healthy work environment will contribute to the successful recruitment and retention of employees that in turn will contribute to enhanced production and service.

If you have suggestions for training activities, please contact QNETat (204) 949-4999 or email mail@qnet.mb.ca.
