| Canadian Healthy
Workplace Criteria and Background Information To assist organizations that wish to take a
long-term, more strategic approach to workplace wellness, the National Quality Institute
(NQI) and Health Canada developed the Canadian Healthy Workplace Criteria. Developed in
consultation with key health professionals, the Canadian Healthy Workplace Criteria
examine how employee health and well-being are woven into every aspect of the way a
organization is run. The criteria can be used to guide, or provide structure for, healthy
workplace initiatives.
The Canadian Healthy Workplace Criteria are made up of five sections: the first four
sections address the "drivers" which are essential to developing and sustaining
a healthy and supportive workplace, while the fifth section is designed to capture the
results or efforts to improve workplace health and well-being.
Section 1: Leadership
Section 2: Planning
Section 3: People Focus
Section 4: Process Management
Section 5: Outcomes
The Canadian Healthy Workplace Criteria
are available free of charge from the QNET (visit the QNET Store). A Healthy Workplace Self-Assessment Workbook
is also available for a fee through the QNET Store. |
