Information available on past Manitoba Quality Awards includes:
In the past, the Manitoba Quality Awards program
recognized and awarded organizations for their commitment, achievement and excellence in
quality management. Since the program was established in 1993, over 70 awards
were
presented to Manitoba organizations from all sectors.
The award is application-based,
requiring interested organizations to apply in the form of a written Achievement Report.
The Manitoba Quality Awards program
is patterned after the Canada Awards for Excellence, which uses the Canadian Quality
Criteria in the review process. Gold Level Manitoba Quality Awards recipients are
encouraged to participate in the Canada Awards for Excellence.
The Evaluation Criteria
Manitoba Quality Awards applicants receive an objective, independent assessment of their
business or organization based on seven categories:
- Leadership
- Planning
- Customer/Client Focus
- People Focus
- Process Management
- Supplier/Partner Focus
- Organizational Performance
The Review Process and Award
Levels
A team of experienced, volunteer awards examiners reviews the Achievement Report, conducts
a site visit at the applicant's facility, and provides a comprehensive Feedback Report to
each applicant. The Feedback Report outlines key strengths and opportunities that were
identified during the review process and site visit. Most importantly, all applicants
receive an award, in one of three levels:
- Bronze for Commitment - organizations
in the early stages of a quality process
- Silver for Achievement -
organizations progressing along the quality journey
- Gold for Excellence - organizations
exhibiting World Class Quality
